December 19- Jerusalem, by Morgan

One of the first things we did when we arrived in Jerusalem was touring the city, including the King David Hotel. After that we walked by the Montefiore windmill and heard the amazing story of a wealthy man who tried to restore the city of Jerusalem during a time when the city was under siege. Later we went to the old city and we walked through the Armenian and Christian quarters. In the Jewish quarter, we visited the tomb of King David. In this area, the boys and girls were separate, which is similar to the set up at the Kotel. We also visited other sacred areas, which are actually holy to the Christian communities around the world, including the church of the Sepulcher. It was interesting to see how close all quarters are to each other and yet how different they are. On another note, while we were looking at the rooftops of the old city, we learned there are stray cats everywhere!
