December 18- Palmach Museum, by Austin
Today we went to the Palmach Museum. The Palmach Museum is about the troops of the Haganah, the underground forces that eventually became the IDF (Israeli Defense Forces). They fought before and during Israel's independence. The troops fought against the British and German armies during WWII. With a fierce fight, the Israelis won and declared Israel to be the Jewish state. Although the Israelis won they suffered many casualties. After walking through the museum, we played a mixer game to learn about each other...it was really fun!
I personally enjoyed the museum and the only downside is the translator radio I had to listen to in order to understand what was being said in Hebrew. If I ever get a chance to come to Israel again, I would definitely want to come back to the Palmach museum...it was a great experience!

ReplyDeleteAustin: I'm so glad you're having a great time! What an opportunity! By the way, I need to see some pictures with you in them. Also, bring back some brochures of the museums and places you've visited. See you soon :)
